English Camp 2014 Has Come To An End

Class Pictures

This years Intermediate 2 Level Grammar Class was great.  We spent a lot of time getting to know one another as we also practiced our english.  As you can see from the pictures above of our last day photo shoot we enjoy having fun.  Thanks to Honza and Vojta for saving me from being the only guy in the class once again.  It is very exciting to know that several have asked if they can take english from me throughout the year.

Midnight Disco

A great way to have some fun with friends both new and old is with some late night dancing.  Patrik had been giving ballroom dancing lessons throughout the week in the afternoon so people were eager to tryout some of their new moves as well as some that were a bit impromptu.  Everyone involved slept well Friday night.

A Morning For Goodbyes

One of the most difficult days of English Camp week is Saturday morning, the day that we all leave the camp.  Sometimes there are tear-filled goodbyes but increasingly this has become a morning of "see you tomorrows" as most people will be attending the church service later on today.  Pray that for some this would be the beginning of many Sundays in attendance at Církev Bratrská in Ostrava.

For Barča and Lenka, this was their first English Camp.  Lenka and her family have recently begun attending the church since moving to the area from Prague several months ago.  Barča is Lenka's cousin.  It was great to see them open up to more and more people as the week went on.

Dominika, on the left, attending English Camp for the second time has been attending the youth group occasionally throughout the year.  For Denisa, on the right, this was her first English Camp with us.

This was also Petra's first English Camp with us.  She had a blast with the homework assignments that I gave the class which required them to ask people very strange questions.  Petra would like to become a doctor someday.

These girls are so cute.  They would always make me laugh every time I saw them.

These three guys shared a cabin with Val Mokrejs during the camp.  This was the first English Camp with us for each one of them.  Karel, on the left, and Pepa, in the blue shirt, are twins, if you can't tell.  Vojta, in the glasses was in my English grammar class.  I will hopefully get a chance to see these guys quite a bit over the next year.

Safe Arrival in Ostrava

The team arrived safely in Ostrava late Saturday afternoon with everyone's luggage ready for a relaxing evening after the camp.  Val spent the evening with some long lost Czech relatives that have some connections with members of the church in Poruba.  On Sunday our team will be reunited with many of the people from camp as we worship together in the newly renovated church building.  Pray that the Lord would use this Sunday for the eternal salvation of many who have not yet believed.

In Christ,
Nate
