Awana and Building IKEA Furniture

Awana Camp Wednesday and Thursday

Little David enjoying some lunch before our afternoon trip to the park to race the boats that the kids made the first couple of days.  They learned about Jesus making the disciples fishers of men.

The kids got a chance to show off all of their hard work before the boat races.

And who says there's never any time for sword fighting the sticks anymore.

A few of the kids wanted a closer look as their boats raced down the stream.

Kuba being Kuba.  Sometimes the easiest way to communicate with someone who speaks another language is to use funny faces.  We were comparing our sour faces.

Petr spent some time showing the kids how to shoot BB guns.  Dorotka was a natural hitting the bullseye on her first shot.  (She may have done this before)

Thursday the Awana Camp when on a field trip.  The view as we walked through the woods was beautiful.

We were able to tour this huge old building that hasn't been lived in since the late 1940's.  Sorry I couldn't get you any pictures from inside but no cameras allowed.

After lunch was spent playing games for kids to earn Awana points and of course have fun.  This was a frisbee toss competition.

Next was a soccer or rather football challenge

They played a huge game of capture the flag but of course you have to get some face paint on to represent your team.

Even I got into the action.  I even went to the store afterwards with this face paint on.  I wasn't too worried about the stares.  I get a lot anyway being a black guy in Ostrava.

Awana Camp ended well on Friday.  I was sad to miss the last day waiting for my furniture from IKEA to be delivered at my apartment.  12 hours of building on Friday and some help from Partik and Petr on Saturday and I now how some normal places to sit and sleep at my apartment.  Pray for these kids from the Awana Camp.  Many of them do not know the Lord.
