Study and Fun

The Gospel According to Paul

Over the last several weeks we have continued our study of the book of Romans during our regular youth meetings on Friday nights.  We have considered God's faithfulness and love to save people for Himself despite the fact that we are all lost and completely undeserving of His mercy.  We spoke about how God has used faith not works to justify His people throughout history.  And we spoke about the power of the gospel to bring peace, joy and hope to fallen humanity through the powerful sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  These are wonderful but heavy chapters.  Would you continue to pray for Robert and I as we prepare these different lessons ?  Pray that we would not only have a clear understanding of the passages, but that we would be able to express these truths in a way that is obtainable for these young people and express our own true love and appreciation for all that the gospel means to us.  Please also pray that the Spirit would be active in the hearts of these young people, opening their eyes, ears and hearts to these wonderful truths.

Halloween Party

Over the last few years here we have had a Halloween party as a way to have a fun evening for people to come, have fun and invite friends.  Instead of making Halloween about scary or gory horrors we have encouraged a fun and creative environment to have a laugh at funny and creative costumes, enjoy tasty desserts and try our best to produce interesting and creative jack-o-lanterns.  We had a pretty good turnout to the event with all of our regular attenders joining us as well as others that we don't see as often as we would like.  Check out a few pictures from the evening.
