It's Been A While

It's Been A While

It's been several weeks since my last post.  When I last wrote, I was preparing for a sermon that I preached on May 1st.  The Lord was faithful as always in directing my thoughts, study and heart and guided me as I spoke to the congregation at Církev bratrská on Psalm 8.  As I prepared for the sermon the Lord amazed me, as He often does, as I personally considered the amazing mercy and blessing that God has shown mankind and in particular, those who believe in Jesus Christ.  During that same week the youth met to have a night of fellowship at a local bowling alley.  This worked out perfectly as I could focus all my study that week on the sermon instead of trying to prepare for both the youth meeting and the Sunday sermon.  The bowling night was a great evening as we had a mix of regular attendees, a couple of infrequent attendees, and one first-timer.  I must admit, my bowling skills aren't what they used to be so I only won one of the three games.  But I do believe that everyone had a fun evening whether their ball found all ten pins or the gutter.

In the past two weeks, I have been working hard preparing lessons for the youth meetings, speaking at schools and meeting with Pastor Petr or the CEFC short-term team (via Skype) to prepare for the upcoming English Camp.  But this past week was a bit of a struggle as I was suffering with some sickness as I went about my weekly responsibilities.  This struggle continues in a way this week as I have had to spend time going to the doctor to get some antibiotics and I may even have to have an infection surgically cleaned.  I would like to avoid this even though it would be an in and out surgery with only local anesthesia.  Please pray that the antibiotics would work but if it's God's will that I should have this little surgery that He would allow things to go smoothly so that I wouldn't be hindered from the work I do.   Please also pray for the upcoming English Camp as we promote, prepare and invite people and for the short-term team meeting weekly and preparing to share the gospel and serve others.
