Feeling Like a Kid Again

From Croatia

Do you remember those car rides as a kid?  Sitting in the back seat.  With no iPad, Smartphone, or portable gaming device to hold your interest even a 30 minute car ride could feel like an eternity if you have never taken the trip before.  From the back seat you ask repetitively, "Are we there yet?" Your parents lean back and say something like, "We'll be there soon."  That is how I have been feeling over the last week or so.  I don't have internet in my apartment so it forces me to leave and use an internet cafe or a local restaurant to check my emails, Facebook, or send these posts.  I have been staying in an apartment owned by a Czech missionary that is serving in this town of Rovinj but I have had very little interaction with him.  He doesn't speak much English.  So, I spend most of my days sitting by the sea and reading the only book that I brought from Ostrava, that being my Bible.  Or I play solitaire on my phone.  I am unsure why the Lord has me waiting here if there is something He would have me do or if it is to just wait patiently on His timing.  Like a child compared to his earthly father my concept of time is very different from that of my Heavenly Father.  I trust that He will bring me through this and back to Ostrava in His perfect timing.  Please continue to pray for me as I wait that the Lord would give me the patience to be able to wait and also the eyes to see opportunities to serve Him even while I am here.

This is a church that sits on the top of the hill in Rovinj overlooking the city and the Adriatic Sea.
