The Day Before English Camp Begins

Prayers Answered for the Team

The day began with very positive news that ALL three suitcases that we had lost during transit from Philadelphia to our pension in Olomouc, Czech Republic had been found and brought to use before breakfast.  I am sure that this encouraged both Pam Hopkins and myself as both of us were missing our clothes for the English Camp.  People were also able to get some rest after many hours without sleep as we traveled.  Thank you to all of you that I know were praying for the Lord to resolve these things.

Growing Together as a Team

and Learning More About Czech Culture

We were able to spend the afternoon together as a team learning a bit about Czech culture at one of the local castles built around 1300.  This is always so helping in gaining prospective about the people we have come to serve.

After grabbing a late lunch we spent sometime looking at some of the beauty of the city of Olomouc. This statue sits in the middle of the city square.  There also also many statues depicting gods and goddesses from Greek mythology.  During this time the Lord was merciful to us as worker at an ice cream shop attempted to WAY over charge us for some ice cream.  Petr, spent several minutes talking to him and the issue was resolved.  What a blessing to have brothers in the faith that can speak the language and handle disputes like that.

Prayers for this evening and the next few days

Tomorrow morning we travel from the pension to the place where the English Camp will be held for the next week.  There are many people for whom this is their first English Camp
  • Protect our team as well as the campers as we travel to the camp Saturday morning
  • That first time team members would be able to jump right in and meet people so as not to waste a couple of days getting comfortable
  • That the team would be able to make a quick transition from traveling to meeting people and beginning our skill testing.  This is important so that English classes can be established quickly so that people know what to do and where to do when English lessons begin Sunday morning

In Christ,
Nate
