Rushing Toward The End Of The School Year

Progressive Dinner

On Friday night, Youth Revolution held its fifth annual Progressive Dinner.  The Progressive Dinner is an event which brings together the youth of the church with different families from the church.  Families open up their homes to host small groups of the youth for part of an evening meal.  In our case, we have families who provide appetizers and others that provide a main meal.  During these evenings, families are able to build relationships with the young people and vis a versa.  In the past we had placed the event somewhere around Valentine's Day, but this year we made a change, because the youth decided that they wanted to show their appreciation to those families who opened up their homes in past by providing a meal for them.  So this year we hosted our first Appreciation Dinner in February and we moved the Progressive Dinner to this past Friday.  This year we had six different families host, two of which did so for the first time.  We also had two young people, Anička and her brother, Martin, who attended the event for the first time.  Everyone seemed to have had a great time and we were very happy to have both Eliška and Táňa join us even though they have been very busy lately taking final exams for university and high school respectively.  You can also praise the Lord along with CB Poruba and the Trojáčkovi family for His goodness and faithfulness as both Eliška and Táňa graduated this past week, Eliška from university and Táňa from high school.  Please also pray for the rest of the youth as they have about a month left of the school year with different final projects and exams coming over the next couple of weeks.

At least once each year, the Církev bratrská youth groups in the region get together to build relationships with one another, have discussions on different biblical topics and worship together.  This year we met in a city called, Frýdlant a couple of weeks ago.  Although not all the youth groups were able to be in attendance, most of the usual attendees of Youth Revolution attended the event.  The Lord blessed us with wonderful weather for the day as we traveled throughout the city on a scavenger hunt with people from different youth groups.  The focus of the event was to get these high school and college aged students to think of themselves as young adults instead of as children.  The youth were encouraged to view their personal relationship with God in a more mature way and look to honor and serve God in a mature way.  Pray that the youth here would seek to grow in a mature relationship with God and seek to honor and serve God in real and mature ways.
