A Weekend Away

Several weekends ago, during a holiday weekend, CB Poruba went on a spring weekend retreat together.  The retreat lasted from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon.  The teaching sessions for the weekend were led by an American missionary couple and their daughter, who have been serving in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for over 20 years.  They had a personal connection with several of the members of the church, having built relationships with several of the Czech parents when they were very young in their faiths.  

The weekend was full of worship, teaching sessions about biblical truth as a world view, funny skits, activities, games and conversations.  Each year I really enjoy begin able to spend the weekend with many of the people from the church, giving us the time to be able to relax, chat and enjoy getting to know and encourage one another.

Please pray for these families as they seek to grow in their relationships with God and with one another.  Pray that they would have wisdom as the parents seek to raise their children to love and trust the Lord.  And pray for these children as their Christian worldview is challenged by many of the things that they see and hear within their society.

Youth Revolution

At Youth Revolution over the last few weeks we have continued to talk about serving as Christ served.  We have considered how to serve those who are in need.  We considered serving those who are different from us.  And we considered serving others by sharing the wisdom of God.  Please pray for these teens as they prepare to serve during the English camp and beyond.  Pray that they would be bold to invite friends to the English camp.  Please pray for us as a group as we prepare to host a gathering of the CB youth of the region in about three weeks.  There is still a lot to do as we prepare.
